Biography
Dr. Snuderl is Associate Professor of Pathology and Director of the Molecular Pathology and Diagnostics at NYU Langone Health. He obtained his MD degree from Charles University, Prague and completed his residency in Anatomic Pathology and Neuropathology at Massachusetts General Hospital. His research focuses on developing novel molecular testing and identifying novel biomarkers for diagnosis and therapy. Dr. Snuderl's laboratory at NYU Langone studies cancer genetics, genetic heterogeneity and epigenetics and examines the molecular differences between tumors at the cellular level. His team discovered several novel molecularly defined subtypes of tumors and contributed to the development of DNA methylation–based classification of brain tumors, and contributed to the development of DNA methylation–based classification of brain tumors, sarcomas and other cancers, using machine learning and epigenetic signatures to more effectively diagnose brain tumors. Dr. Snuderl validated and obtained regulatory approval for numerous high complexity molecular tests.
